KEEP ROMANCE ALIVE - This project was inspired by a man who was wearing a skirt and walking on 5th Avenue at lunchtime. He was screaming “KEEP ROMANCE ALIVE! KEEP ROMANCE ALIVE!”  Now I ask people “What is your ROMANCE?” I met Chris Rubino, artist, at Madison Avenue Park on June 14, 2010.  I asked him to sit down in front of a water fountain and gave him a penny.  He threw the penny into the water.  I asked him, “did you wish anything?”  He said, “yeah.”  We moved to an Italian wine bar on Broadway near the park and asked him what he wished.  He said, “I was wishing I am happier tomorrow than today.  But, I’m truly happy to be in love.” I brought 10 pennies for this shoot.  Chris said, “this is an expensive shoot, man!”
